Design Process
The Design Process for a Garden Design is in two stages:
Stage One is a Scaled Garden Design Plan that can be used as reference for a self build and
Stage Two is the Scaled Garden Design Plan taken through to completion.
Stage One: Scaled Garden Design Plan
- Initial visit to meet and view the garden. (There is no charge for this).
- A written quotation for the Scaled Garden Design Plan.
- Site survey of the garden by land surveyors or Tiggy.
- 2-3 meetings to discuss all your expectations for the garden.
- A meeting to view and discuss rough drawings of the garden.
- A written quotation for Planting Plans.
- Presentation of final Scaled Garden Design Plan and Planting Plans.
Scaled Garden Design Plan costs for a small garden can start at around £500 and be in excess of £2,000 for a large one. Planting plans with plants supplied are based on £35 a square meter.
Stage Two: Constructing the Garden
- Written quotation for Stage Two.
- Technical drawings to include: a Master Plan and Construction drawings.
- Specification documents detailing the work.
- Putting the work out to Tender.
- A meeting to choose the right landscapers to suit the work.
- Monitoring the works through to completion.
- Planting up the garden.

Construction Drawing
The cost of building the garden depends on the detail of the design but excluding any large features like ponds or pools, a mix of hard landscaping and plants works out to around £100 a square meter. Most people like to spend between 5% and 15% of the value of their house, on their garden.
