Garden Design Consultations

This is the most important stage in the design process when the client’s wishes are discussed in detail and the garden’s full potential is observed.

The process begins with an Initial Garden Design Consultation of between 2 – 3 hours and you can limit this time if you wish. A check-list of things to consider is sent out prior to the visit to maximise your time together.  All household members are encouraged to say what they would like from the garden and give their ideas which helps Tiggy to draw up a very personal design for each client.

There can be a lot to take in as all possibilities are discussed so Tiggy is careful to explain her ideas in detail, sometimes drawing a simple sketch or laying her ideas out using things to hand like hoses and chairs or canes for trees. Some clients like to take notes as they go round the garden.

Tiggy’s ideas can then be used as reference for the client to build the design themselves or they can lead to Tiggy producing a Scaled Garden Design for a contractor to build the design through to completion.

Initial Consultation £70 per hour, subsequent Consultations £50 per hr. Alternatively a client can request a Consultation Report £150 which will itemise all Tiggy’s ideas discussed on the day.

If a Scaled Garden Design Plan is commissioned, this Consultation is free.

“Tiggy’s short consultation was very worthwhile at several levels: from identifying the overall feel of the garden linked to the style of the house inside and out, to detailed plant suggestions and helpful advice on ailing roses.”

The steps through the trees are made from old railway sleepers and bark for a natural look and make a more comfortable decent than the original steep grass slope.

During a Garden Design Consultation, Tiggy might help you to mark out new planting beds or an area of long grass on the lawn for bulbs.
When creating these new shapes it is very important to work with the lay of the land.

Following the lay of the land, this mown grass contrasts with the long grass area for the trees and spring bulbs.
