Scaled Garden Design Plan for Barn Conversion

Scaled Garden Design Plan for Barn Conversion

A garden design for a new driveway was required for this Barn Conversion in materials that would match the high quality and style of the building. The drive needed to accommodate parked cars as well as having easy access to the front door, back door and car-port.

On the left hand side there are two parking bays either side of the tree and the front door is straight ahead on the right.

The formal pond and fountain

This formal pond is situated outside the long window as a focal point to the front of the barn. The sculptural fountain, in the shape of Acer leaves is designed by Humphrey Bowden and at night it sparkles with lights from inside the pond and the reflection from lights inside the barn.

During the Consultations it was decided to change an area at the side of the house, outside the back door and kitchen. This was a shrubbery and utility area but as it faces East it would make a perfect breakfast area under the tree. A herb bed was planted up outside the kitchen door on one side of it and an informal pond was created on the other side for the children to enjoy.
