The unwanted Leylandii hedge

The unwanted Leylandii hedge

This was a small town garden in need of a big makeover.
The clients put in a lot of hard work in order to keep the costs down. They dug out the old hedge and trees, repaired and painted the fences, erected a new fence to hide the recycling and laid the lawn themselves. The most expensive part of any build is the hard landscaping like the path and patio.

The arbour at the bottom of the main garden gets the first of the morning sun and provides shade in the middle of the day. The side garden (above left) is now a scented sun trap facing south with a border of lavender and honeysuckle and the new patio provides plenty of space for eating outdoors.

The planting scheme has been carefully chosen to reflect their favourite colours in their home.
