Country House in The Cotswolds

This Country House sits at the head of a valley in The South Cotswolds. With the sensitivity of the beautiful location the garden design needed to empathetically blend with the valley beyond. With a big family and several grandchildren, the clients wishes were to have a large play lawn, family eating area, a wildlife pond to study and a wooded area for picnics and dens.

The oak table that seats 8 - 10 people situated at the head of the valley to enjoy those wonderful views.
The woodland area with mown grass paths meandering through it. Two stone steps provide seats in the cool shade
The wildlife pond edged with the orange herbaceous Potentillas and marginal plants. There's a beach at one end to allow the animals to drink and the birds to bathe, with a stone seat for viewing.

The entertaining area is at the head of the valley to maximise the stunning views beyond. The large oak table and chairs is covered with a green oak wooden pergola and is open on all sides to enjoy the views. Grass paths take you from the entertaining area down through the woodland walk and back up past the wildlife pond.

Half way up the bank from the woodland area you find this small wooden arbour where you can rest and enjoy the beautiful view.
